About

Kim Dressendörfer

It all started when…

I read an article about how there are not enough women leaders in AI and that it’s really hard to close the gender gap. And the only thing I was thinking about was, well we have to change that, and the best way to do this is to show young upcoming engineers that we are out there and that we are cooler than you might think we are!

So here I am, my name is Kim Dressendörfer and I work for IBM as a Technical Specialist and Cognitive Solution Architect. I am one from two women in my team and I also face prejudice about being a female technical specialist. It goes from clients thinking that I am an intern to hearing comments like “wait you are the architect for this project? But you are a woman!“. This is sadly the truth about our industry and that is probably why only 26% of jobs in AI are taken from women. This needs to change.

The idea of this website is quite simple, it is about creating a platform for young females to listen to interviews from successful women in AI and to find new role models. The great thing about AI is that there are so many different areas you can work and use your creativity. Showcasing interviews and the real perspective and experience from females in AI will expand the image of what you need to do to join them.

So lean back and enjoy this website and become the new woman in AI.
